Qi Gong with Barney

Big Auntie Fan’s Qi Gong.

Qigong (pronounced Chee Gong) is a Chinese health practice with roots dating back 5,000 years, from Daoist and Buddhist sources. In coordinating the body, breath and the mind, the aim is to cultivate and circulate energy (Qi or prana). Qigong is performed in a relaxed manner and this workshop is suitable for all.

Big Auntie Fan was the affectionate name given to Fan Fenglan (1884-1967); due to her sincerity, kindness and her prestige in the martial arts circles of Beijing. The session will include her ‘Limitless Wishful Gong’ and some movements from the Swaying Palm (Huang Zhang) sequence. A general introduction to Qigong and its principles will start the session and time will also be given to standing practice (Zhan Zhuang) and walking meditation.

Barney is a student and teacher of Fan family style Bagua Zhang and is insured and listed as an instructor with The Tai Chi Union for G.B.

Womens New Moon Yoga Circle and Sacred Cacao Ceremony
with Emma and Kathie

Emma will lead you through 2 hrs of lunar yoga and then Kathie will guide you through a Cacao Ceremony.

The new moon is the darkest night of the moon’s cycle. This is a fresh start to the moon cycle and a fresh start for all of us as well. At the new moon, the moon is still. It is neither waxing nor waning. We are encouraged to do the same. To find stillness.
New Moons are always a good time to turn inwards and reflect on how we want to move forward in our lives, what we want to release and what we want to manifest, drawing from the insight and wisdom that often comes to us through practices such as yoga, meditation and journaling.

In this workshop held on the night of new moon we will tune into the spirit of Cacao through imbibing and ritual to help you align to and harness the lunar energy, and set intentions for the coming month, looking at what you need as you move into Autumn. Please note, imbibing the cacao might not be suitable for you if you are pregnant or on antidepressant medication – please let us know in advance and we can provide a different herb infusion for the ritual this evening.
